ARTificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is the ability of computers to perform tasks requiring human intelligence. Due to the exponential growth in the speed of computers, their ability to handle complex information and the large amounts of data available to “educate” them – computers can be programmed like the human brain (called “neural networks”).
A “GAN” is a type of neural network which I used to generate the works shown below for my exhibition in 2019. I inputted 1000s of my images (including sketches, paintings, prints and photographs) into the GAN and ran it over two days. I sampled the hourly output to curate a collection that best showcases how computers can be used to generate unique digital art.
(These all come with a choice of wooden or coloured frame).

An Insight into GAN
This shows my GAN being trained to generate trees. Once trained, I ran the model to create works using my own original input material.
